svt nos educate me

ok i just bought a svt was talking to a ford tech who has worked for ford for 20 years he told me that the cheapest SAFE bang for the buck upgrade that's cheap is NOS. I was like no freaking way i don't believe you on that. He then tells me that on the focus svt the engine can handle 350 hp stock NO problem.. A,nd that the car can handle a 75 shot all day without a problem, no worries. Instead of boosting and creating a tinker toy why? A car is always boosted which means added wear and tear on motor and the turbo or super chargers all the time even when your just driving normal... plus the wasted money on gas when your not racing it.. he said do what tom says ie toms tune orp intake 67mm tb and add a 75 shot and you will be very shocked what you have plus you can wax a lot of boosted cars without all the money and upkeep is this true? if so what is the BEST kit for svt focus ? any advice would be helpfull

I agree on some and dont agree on some

Turbos dont hurt MPG I have guys doing 30mpg with turbo , they dont have have much at all ware and tear on the engine or other parts normal driving

Does NOS add a fun factor to your car YES it will , will it ever replace what a turbo will do ? No not even close

A tune , wide band AF gauge , TB , ORP and you can have some fun , about every 3 to 5 sprays depending on how many gears you use it and you will be doing bottle fills , a bottle heater will squeeze another 1 to 3 out of that also depending on length on

NOS vs Turbo in price yes the NOS has a cheaper startup cost, but like Tom said you'll be refilling the bottle often. Once you have a turbo installed, there isnt a cost everytime you get into boost.

As far as the gas mileage goes, why do you think big rigs run turbos? Because at highway speeds it helps gas mileage.

Another point to mention NOS is a brand of nitrous oxide. Other than that I just like how nitrous works it facinates me that nitrous is NOT flamable but only adds oxygen to the mixture. Don't ever run nitrous without a wet kit on a small shot or a tune on anything above 50. It only takes once people
