Some questions

hey guys, I have a few questions

1. I have been trying to figure out (searching) for what needs to be altered to the fuel system when turbo-ing. I was reading about the pressure needs to go up and something about a return system? Can someone clarify what this means and is it always necessary?

2. How many of you have gone turbo on your own?--I mean you put the whole thing together in your garage or something like that?

3. Heard that stock connecting rods (duratec) are only good to about 8-9psi? Is this true? Is that all that needs to change when you push over this limit?

Thanks for your answers, I'm sure I'll have more questions as I look more into doing this in the future.

you can easily put 12 psi out and ur fine. anything more than that you need to consider a built bottom end, anything over 15, you DEFINITELY need a new bottom end.

I bought a turbo kit, and put it together with a helper. Some steps are easier with an extra set of hands.

As far as fuel goes, you will need bigger injectors for sure.

As far as how much psi the rods can take, that all depends on your particular setup. Most people will say that 11 psi is safe on stock parts, and after that, you will want to upgrade with forged rods and pistons. But again, it all depends on what you have put together.

That thread looks like it's for the Zetec, and for those looking for the really big hp. The typical turbo kit for a duratec will put you somewhere in the low to mid 200's for hp.

I did not do anything else other than injectors, and I have not had any fuel issues.
