Exclamation Ebay Turbo Kits, Whats your take?

I figured i would bring this up to see everyones views on them...
I guess to either discourage or encourage people to buy them, maybe save people from wasting their money... Heres a picture of a kit for around 600 dollars... No wastegate, blowoff valve, injectors, tuner... I honestly had experience with one of these kits for a budget build on a civic we pushed that poor motor to the limit and blew it but the turbo didnt seem to bad after couple hundred miles at 18psi seemed responsive but not like garret ball bearing, you honestly get what you pay for...

I guess its really up to you and how reliable you want to be... weekend racing? Maybe... Daily driver? Low boost very possible but are you really saving money... Lets hear everyones side to this and especially the ones that have had any experience with these kits...

I don't think a couple hundred miles gives any indication of how crappy these "kits" really are.

In a pinch for a POS car that I don't want or expect to last, sure.
For something I care about and want to last, staffed by a company with real people I can contact in case of a problem or in need of a replacement part ... Priceless.

There's a few certainties for me in life. Anymore I know to stay away from liquor in plastic bottles, especially if it costs less than $10, and also ebay turbo kits.

You get what you pay for when it comes to forced induction. I have a turbo MR2 and I dont have enough time or digits on my apendages to count on to explain the horror stories.

The exeption to the rule is it MIGHT actually work.

When you can get the kit for less than what you should be paying for the car it's a bad sign. When properly Turboing a Focus unless you can make your own manifold and piping you should look to spend between $3500 and $4500 before Tuning. Sometimes you can get it a little less than that but not by much.

Sometimes you get good stuff, sometimes you get bad stuff.

There is a guy around here who has been running an ebay kit for almost a year on his civic, NO problems what so ever. But he's lucky.

Yeah that is supposed to be for a focus it really wouldnt work....

I figured this may spark up some good discussion... Im not saying buy one by no means Ive spent over twenty thousand on my car, I would never cut any corners... I figured to just see if we can get horror stories or success...
