From what I've gathered roots style blowers don't like to pull hard for their air (AEM cold air intake is out of the question since it makes the blower work hard for the air and is around 2.5" before throttle body). The highest output setups I have seen are running the svt airbox and snorkle w/ a k&n filter. I am running a 3" maf housing off the blower to 3.5" piping to the filter w minimal bends. Keep it simple and no smaller than 3"

From what I've heard and read making some kind of CAI yourself works great. Idk about the sizes and what not but the JRSC runs pretty hot so cold air is always better.

Agreed, I can't see how my custom intake could be any better flowing/colder air. UNLESS I had a hood scoop and short ram intake

I'd go CAI, even if you have to go a little oversized and get a retune.

you heard wrong.

Get an SVT airbox with a K&N drop in.

these blowers do NOT like to work for air at all. If you must get some kind of other intake, use a Volant or old Focus central "box" style.

Oscar Jackson himself dynoed these blowers with all different intakes, and the SVT airbox edged them all out by like 2-3 whp.

oh, and to the OP, the BBK is not an "intake", its basically a smaller pulley and a retune.

I'm telling ya I would run a CAI... I would run a 3" CAI and get a retune for it... that way your getting the coldest air possible and the 3" piping will ensure the blower doesnt have to work hard.

But what do I know about making power......... not to mention EVERY Mustang with a roots blower on it runs the same style setup.

WOW, REALLY?!?!?!

It makes no difference the principles still work the same. The larger intake tube size makes it easier for the blower to suck in air and lets face it the TINY JRSC needs the coolest air possible to perform correctly.
