My turbo/engine re(build)

hey guys im wanting 240-300hp with a turbo and im rebuilding the motor as seen in the zetec performnace chat just want to know what i should change out or keep stock...id rather be safe then putting a whole in the block or other things going wrong

is a p&P and honing nessecary are bigger pistons and stiffer rods and bigger valves necessary....
i can get some of this stuff a bit cheaper so im not overly concerenced about price i have lots of time to rebuild and like i said i want it done right and safe......safety is the key word here

what should i get or keep to achieve such a goal??

If you want 300*whp* then you need forged internals. P&P head always helps. If you're going to bother getting in there, might as well use all ARP hardware.

You already have a turbo kit in mind?

Well that's because it's easy. 300whp is easy if your motor can handle it. You can get a turbo that spools up nicely and have good torque. All for a reasonable price.

yea im not scared to spend the money on internals if its gonna be able to handle the power and not break so if i have to spend a bit more for the better product i will

what about valves and what not what size valves?? do i need valve springs and retainers to go with it?? should i got with the .007 over sized pistons?? will stock size pistons work fine if i just simple uprade them and get forged rods??? what about turbo cams.... are they necessary or will stock cams be fine?? like i said many times im not affriad to spend the money

Hopefully someone else chimes in on valves and oversized pistons. Not in my territory. As for turbo cams, I'm pretty sure Tom says you don't even need them. Only reason I have cams is my friend put them in before I bought the car.

well, if ur sure u don't want over 300 hp, you could go w/ SVT internals, though people have pushed them plenty far. as for the valves, you don't need them at all. people run on stock heads and 20+ psi (of course a built bottom end) and will make plenty of power!!!
