smoking under hard throttle?

I'm looking at buying a turbo'd SVT, but it smokes under hard throttle. It seems to have a little blue tint to it, but I'm not sure. At idle and anywhere else in the rpm range it's fine, just when you really get on it. I'm not sure what turbo kit it is, but I think it's one of tom's older kits. It's at a dealer and they know nothing about it. Everything says turbonetics on it. I know it needs a tune as the afr's jump all over the place, but I'm not worried about that as I'll get it re-tuned. Any ideas?

Get a compression test done. That's all i can really say. Also i would take it to a shop to run some diagnostics and check the oil. If i can remember correctly White smokes means Head gasket is going on it.

if it only smokes under hard throtle it could be a turbo seal or even piston rings,
first thing i would do is check compresion on it and look in the coolant and oil see if it is mixing at all

compression test and pull one of the charge pipes off and see if there is oil in it.

The problem is, the afr gauge doesn't give numbers, just a led line that goes from lean to rich. If I remember correctly, it was going toward rich under WOT. I can try to check it out again in the next day or two and let you know.

Blue smoke

It is my experience that blue smoke under hard acceleration is burned oil. As one of our colleagues said possibly rings or turbo related. Oil quality and change interval is more important in turbos.
