Lightbulb JRSC throttle cable bracket - mod

Just a lil over a week ago, I had a mishap with the TB where the shaft had just broken off, leaving me with this:

So I ordered up a new CFM 67mm TB and replaced it and while doing so, my attention focused on this:

The throttle cable bracket that I have is a newer/revised one because the original one got hot/weak and would bend. Well as you can see in the pic the two areas that I circled were making contact and I am wondering if that had something to do with the break. Doubtful, but I wouldn't rule it out.

So I took off the TB and popped on the new one and then moved the lever on the TB and sure enough, it made contact with the cable mount again. Then I looked inside the TB and noticed that the butterfly still had a lil bit to go ... so out came the dremmel and I ground the bracket down a bit to make room.

I got it down so that the TB opens to it's full open state and there is still enough room to slide a piece of paper in there. Might have to take it down a tiny bit more, but it was getting late.

Anyway ... if you have the new bracket and either a Focus Central or CFM TB, you might want to check your clearance.

You are probably running the older / original bracket. Mine is the newer/revised one where they added reinforcement. Mine was bending like mad esp when it would get hot.

My lines are following the revised vacuum set up, per Oscar Jackson so the fuel sensor on the end of the rail see's boost - it goes to the back of the manifold.

Here is the link where they mention the layout.
