Freshly turbo'd now very hard cold start

Let me say this, My car always ran rough and missed when you first started it but it wasn't too too noticeable I just got done my turbo project, it is NOT tuned yet so I hjave been running with the wastegate fully open so no boost. However, now when I start the car it will fire right up but misses and chugs and is totally unresponsive to gas pedal input. Its a new coil pack, wires, grounds. The odd thing is once it warms up the problem just seems to vannish and it runs pretty good. I mean it's not perfect but alot I beleve has to do with the maf being relocated to the new 3" housing. I need to fix this issue before it goes to the dyno for tune. ANy ideas focus champions? If this problem is resolved with out too much parts guessing the winner gets a free plactic shifter base unbroken I may try and take a video of it tommrorw if I dont work too early

The issue will be fixed WHEN you tune on the dyno... and not a day before then.

are you running larger injectors also? i assume you are... along w/ a 3" maf housing... and your on the stock tune and not a base file?? im surprised the thing even started... let alone idle or anything else...

I wouldnt run it until its on the dyno and atleast has some sort of base tune... dont plan on driving it to the dyno either because if im thinking correctly... thats not gonna happen.

hope that helps

Yes the maf is in a 3" housing, I have the 42lb injectors but not installed I'm running stock injectorsright now for driveablity. I also have new plugs but there the range lower heat range. I drove it to work today with the wastegate held open it ran pretty good. I do have a slight oil leak to adress but no big deal. I believe it just had to re-learn the curve cause the battery was disconnect for well over a month it seems much better now. I'm calling PSI tommrrow to get it in for a tune. I'm hoping with tit on the dyno they can check out a number of things and smooth out all the little bumps and hiccups it has.

You need a tune , butting the MAF in a larger MAF tube changes the fueling

Running a turbo with the waste gate open and no tune will still KILL your engine and or your turbo
