Any truth to this>>>>

I just put a 3" header back exhaust on my 03 SVT. This includes a HFC, 14" Magnaflow res. and a Borla muffler. Now to me..... it's F'N LOUD ]

Anyway, a friend of mine has told me that when I put on my turbo kit, it will quiet down the exhaust some, actually he said alot. But he also drives a turbo'd V8. <<< if that matters

So for the 4 cyl, any truth to this?

yes its true and if you supercharge the car it gets even louder than what you have,so the turbo will make it quieter

turbo acts as a muffler.....just vent it to the atmosphere....

but it is fun to run 14 lbs of supercharged goodness thru an open header........

After I installed my JRSC my exhaust ( Borla + ORP) seemed to be quieter/deeper tone.

A turbo acts just like a muffler. You could get rid of the muffler once you install the turbo. I ran no mufflers on any of my turbo cars and they all sounded amazing. SRT-4 comes with no muffler from the factory just as proof a turbo will muffle the sound.

truf. my car didn't have any mufflers on it, just two resonators. when i had my bigger exhaust put on, i actually put a magnaflow straight through muffler on it because i didn't want it to be too loud. it still has a good loud sound to it but not nearly as loud as it would be with no turbo.

3" turbo back on both my cars.. well i had one on the turbo focus. and i have one on the sti. both have/had an awesome sound. the focus sounds horrible unless its turbo IMO.

here is a good example of the diff.

mine is straight 3" turbo back (the very deep one). my friends is the white one with a header and a turbendz 2.5" w/ resonator and muffler.

after we leave you can not here mine... sorry so slow i didnt get traction till 4th, 353whp and street tires
