intercooler size and brand

does the brand matter?
like eprformance wise?

also im going to be running a procharger setup and it is going to maxed out as far as blower abilities.

so i was wondering when i go fmic.
if i got like a 30"L, 6.5"tall, 4"deep.
will that work?

slightly longer and thicker than the precision turbo intercooler a lot of people run

There is nothing wrong with going to big other then knocking it off the car when you pull up to things

To thick there is , 4 inches would be to thick and you wouldnt get good cooling through it because you wouldnt be doing enough speed and most Focus owners dont block off the sides or top to make the air go through the cooler and anot let it go around , I wouldnt do any thicker then 3 inches and nothing less then 2.5 , on the Focus with limited space you cant go to big

thats what i meant by too big.

plus if you go a lot larger, boost response goes down slightly. like going from 2" piping to 2.5" piping.

there is room for a huge intercooler on the focus if you cut the front bumper. if not then you can not run one that is very tall. any thing that the bumper cover covers wont be doing you any good either. if it were me and i had the stock bumper i would go with something like 3" core, ~30 long, ~7" tall, 2.5" in/out.

as far as brand goes just about every build on theturboforums uses cxracing. cheap as hell and are good quality. plenty of those guys are pushing well over 600hp with them and i havent seen any complaints.

I run a cheap bar and plate core with custom end tanks... the core is 3x7x18 and over all length is around 28-30 inches.
