Exclamation 312whp on 12psi.... HELL YES!!!

I went down to KY to help catmostfeared (aka Marty) tune on his car, after running into an issue with his AEM POS boost controller he decided to call it a day... SOo I took the oppertunity to put mine on the Dyno just to see where I was at with my tuning.... since I havent dyno'd the new motor.

First run was a 12psi low boost run.. 312whp and 255wtq

I thought that didnt look quite right BUT I set right there and watched the guy put in all the info into the dyno. So I knew all the needed input was correct.

I make my high boost run 359whp and 298wtq ... right about where I thought it should be for 20psi

Just to make sure there wasnt anything odd going on I make 2 more pulls.... all of which the car was never shut off between pulls (everything was getting warm needless to say)

The second low boost pull made 308whp and around 249wtq I dont remember exactly the TQ.

The second 20psi run made 349whp and I dont remember the tq.

These were SAE CORRECTED numbers, I'll post up the dyno later today.

On the dyno both pulls (high and low boost) lay directly over each other until about 4300rpm. Also there was ZERO activity on the J&S and my AFR was between 10.5 and 10.7... so there is room to grow if I want to... but I'm pretty happy with what I have now.

All dyno's were made with my little GT28rs, my own custom tune and 93 octane pump gas.

Yep, 93 octane.

Stock block, stock crank, Eagle rods and Probe pistons balanced within .1 grams (done by me), Custom port and polish on the head with extensive combustion chamber work (also done by me) along with all the same old stuff I've always had.... not to mention countless hours of dialing in the tune.

Nice numbers, I like that very much.
Now John is that on stock SVT internals or modded ?
If I remember well the stock engine can take some heat but I am just wondering.
Not that i'm in to it real soon but I have my eyes set on a Fofo with modified engine and turbo, it has T3/T4 turbo, Pistons JE 9:0.1, Rod eagle, Cometic head gasket, Main and rod bearing Clevite, Main and head stud ARP, Competition cam belt,Clutch Bully stage 3, Intercooler, Blow off valve Greddy, Exhaust 3'', SVT interior, Mag DAI Fang 17'' with new Akina tires and makes 280 whp, 230 wtq @ 16 psi. All has been tuned by Turbo expert performance in Quebec with only 6000 KM since engine build
Wanna hear your opinion regarding the above.
Cheers, Paul.

Johns something isnt right , to make 312 on 12psi and only 359 on 20 , doing some math thats not coming up right

only a 47HP gain from 8psi more boost even a bad turbo on these engines does 8HP to 1psi so you should of seen at least a 64HP gain and most turbos do 10+ so thats a 80-100HP gain

If you take the 359hp - base HP 150 = 209 at 20psi thats a 10.9 to 1 ratio HP then take 312 - base = 162 to match high boost psi/hp thats 16 psi boost and about right for those numbers

If you take 312 - base 150 = 162 devided by boost thats a 13.5HP to boost gain in HP the lower and upper boost to HP should match some what close

Your high boost is right where it should be at the 360 the low boost is strange

I am NOT for a sec questioning what John is saying I have known him to long , I am saying something does not add up and gauges , hoses I dont know but something is off

If he logged the runs I can tell real fast what it is ?

Tom

That's some good numbers! However, how come only 47whp/43wtq more with 8 more psi?

LOL......I see Tom beat me to it.

We are thinking the turbo has ran out of air. I wouldnt have believed it either, but I stared at the boost gauge during the first run, and it never went above 12. As for the dyno, well there were other dyno numbers that day that were accurate or acctualy less then what we thought it should be. This was from another focus and the dyno never changed, we just swapped Johns car on it.
Although I agree with Tom that something dosent seem right, I was there and nothing went out of the ordinary.
Im chalkin this up to the extensive combustion chamber work, wish I had a pic than everyone could see, and the good tune. Theres a lot of timing in the tune and the J&S still isnt acting up.
