Turbo on a Focus SPI motor...?

Not sure if this belongs in the "forced induction" forum or the "SPI Performance" forum...but I'm posting here. Sorry if I'm wrong.

Anyway, just wondering if anyone has any experience with adding a turbo to the turd SOHC SPI motor. Getting the turbo itself and fabricating the intake plumbing isn't an issue to me, but fabricating the exhaust manifold and, more importantly, dealing with tuning issues may be. The only reason I'm considering this is because I can get a turbocharger and fabricate the plumbing for probably almost no cost, and the car is so slow that it almost seems to NEED some type of kick in the ass. I'm not trying to go crazy and build a hot rod, and I'm not trying to win any stoplight races. I'm just trying to add a little power so the car can get out of its own way. A ZTEC swap would be a thought, but it'd be way more costly for me than adding a custom turbo setup to the existing SPI motor.

Bottom line...if I can add only a little boost and maintain a reliable DD then fine. If it's going to be a tuning nightmare requiring a whole new fuel system, ECU programming, etc... then I won't even bother.

Just wondering if anyone has undertaken this project, and what kind of boost can be added with mostly stock parts while maintaining relative reliability.
