JRSC and Nos?

I have a JRSC on my stock internal ZX3 and put down 185whp witha BBK, 67mm TB and a CFM overdrive pulley, and WMI.
I was really hoping to be in the 200-220whp range but Tom says that aint happening.

So now I am considering a 50 shot. Anyone done this? Can my motor handle it? I know they say stock internals can go to 250hp.

ANYONE done this?

nitrous hits harder than forced induction. would be harder on bearings and such. I would do a build before i touched nitrous if you're already on a BBK.

Why not just let tom build you a turbo kit?

Youll be spending that anyway when you blow your motor.

200 220 is MAX IMO on a ZETEC.

If def wont last for years pushing it that hard.

Then it would be pretty silly to spend $4000 on a turbo setup if the motor can only handle 15 more hp than I have now.

I am pretty sure Tom said these motors could handle 250whp. If that is the case, then a 50 shot should be ok. I am NOT going to do it, if the motor can not handle it.

My last car had $12k under the hood, I just dont wanna go that route again.

I think you could take a small shot , Never done it but dont see why not with a proper tune , I would start with a 25 shot and see where it goes

I have a LOT of ZX3 Zetec engines out there in the 235 to 250 range , I did 300+ all stock engine with race fuel back in 2001 when the tuning I had sucked bad , tuning has come a long way

Any boost and you take a chance of looseing the engine , keep the knock down , fuel to it and you should be fine

Tom

ya, just make sure its AFTER the turbines, you don't want to mess up the coating on them. The 25 shot of nitrous may actually end up bein more like a 40 shot cause the nitrous will cool the boost.
