It's Official...I'm Boosted.

Well, just picked up the car from the dyno this afternoon and must say I'm pleased but also puzzled. Just a quick run-down...I had a JRSC w/BBK rebuilt and ported and added it to the existing FR2 cams, SVT header with Borla full exhaust, ORP, 70mm MAF, 65MM TB, adj cam gears, SCT chip, FR head decked .040, Pipercross intake with 100mm intake tube...along with other misc. things I can't remember right now. It's a 2003 ZX5 ATX.

My numbers are 189.66WHP and 306.8 TQ. The TQ number is what throws me can that be right? Even the guys at the shop were surprised but told me it was correct...they did 8-10 pulls and it came up to that (or close to it) each time.

Does that seem normal that my TQ number would be so much higher than my WHP? Seems that most I have ever seen are usually pretty close (within 20-30 points) and usually the WHP is the higher number?????

I'm not complaining just seems odd to me especially being new to the world of boost.

By the way I did install a wideband but no boost gauge. Figured with the JRSC I can't adjust boost anyway and I didn't want but one gauge.

Actually your TQ is about DOUBLE every other JRSC BBK dyno I've ever seen...... I can not believe that number since I make just a little more than that with my turbo at 20psi.

But seeing its an auto it could be higher than a MTX... but still not that high.

well iknow how you can find out...lol .... with that kind of boost take it out on the freeway and from 3rd gear at about 60 or 70 roll your foot ito the throttle and see if it rips the tires loose.. if it does then i would believe it if not then i doubt that very seriously...lol

I'm going to call him back in the AM tomorrow about the V8 thing...maybe the guy I picked it up from had it wrong. I too still can't believe it that but the guy I spoke with was not the dyno guy but the front service guy (and he's new).

Still pretty happy with it. The drive home I just kind of eased into it and it was nice and smooth, could really feel the power difference. Still all-in-all not bad for an ATX..................

I'll try and post the dyno tomorrow..
