Boost Drop Off

Just noticed this but pretty sure its been happening ever since I installed everything so its nothing new.

But around 6500 to 7000 the boost drops off to 10-11PSI

I have the Tial 38mm Wastegate 14.7 (1 Bar) spring and nothing else.

Yes its hooked to the compressor housing not the Intake Manifold.

There should be no more boost spike at the IM then at the turbo , By doing it at the IM you get a truer boost to the engine , all piping and IC have some loss between the turbo and intake

If your taking your boost reading from the IM you need to take your boost controller from there as well

I actually see 4 places your boost falls off then comes back on , most of the time this comes from a MBC or the gain needing to be changed

Your dyno actually looks pritty good , Next week I will make some small changes to the AF and get that tune to you

Im not using a Boost Controller

This is all by Wastegate Spring.

I am going to be hooking an EBC up here shortly, then I'll try taking it from the intake manifold.

Ok whats happening is the manifold PSI is at or slightly greater then your boost at the top and pushing open your waste gate

Idealy you want the same psi in the turbo manifold as you do the Intake (something few shops take into account when they make manifolds) If your manifold psi is more then your boost then that psi pushes on the WGvalve opening the WG more

Ok so I can adjust for that when I get my EBC?

Or thats just a flaw in Manifold design that I have to deal with?

More then likely can be adjusted with a good EBC
