zx3 jrsc + bbk..goal = 210whp+

so I have a zx3 with a jrsc + bbk...now I know right now I have to be right around 180whp..so far I have

the svt intake set up with a k&n filter

svt headers heat wrapped

focus central 65mm throttle body

supercharger is ported

full 2.5' exhaust with 1 muffler and 1 resonator no cat

and still using the tune that came with the bbk

I still plan on adding a bit of more power to my car but I'm not sure what yet...I'm definitively getting it dyno tuned and I'm trying to decide what to do to cool the supercharger....a small shot of nitrous? or methanol?

how much is possible with a very small shot of nitrous or methanol...maybe a couple of more pounds of boost (10-11psi?) and a nice dyno tune?

and also I know since the supercharger doubles the amount of nitrous injected..what is the smallest or safest shot of nitrous I can do? I think 35shot = 75 hp gain...so what is the smallest/safest? just for cooling!

thanks

well i think you can get some cams specifically suited for S/C's that could help increase HP (don't know if its worth it or how much it will increase by).

As for cooling, always a major issue with JRSC, i remember reading about someone using Methanol to cool it (custom job i believe) and achieved over 210whp.

Would Decreasing Compression help? Heard FI Likes lower compression. Sure you will find a solution soon.

Just getting a good tune more then likely will get you more HP , I do remote tuning for 450.00 and you get free updates if needed

You can use alcohol injection with the blower, but don't tune for it running that way, if it fails it can grenade. I agree that a good tune can help, and get a short intake on there.

sounds good tom...but first I'm going to need to get everything together and I also need a xcal 2 also....I read in a thread that the svt snorkel is better than a short ram? but when I go open airbox the car feels better and I hear the supercharger louder too..??

not sure...and what would be more efficient and give me power as well? methanol or a small shot of nitrous? and how small?

Keep in mind that Meth should only be used for safety and to help cool the charge , it isnt a power adder

A small nitrous will work but dangerous , why not sell what you have and go turbo its the only way your going to make good safe power

Even at the same boost the Turbo will out perform the jrsc and a 75 shot

well I was turbo but now I'm supercharged..I know I had more power turbo but I still like superchargers and I was trying to get a procharger but they were none being sold at the time...

anyway what are the gains with methanol I'll be looking at? is there a pulley for 1-2psi more? and if I get it tuned with you tom what power ranges could we be looking at?

I thought I could do a very SMALL shot of nitrous just to cool down the supercharger....not a 75 but the smallest there is lol

how isn't that safe?

hmm you need to pick up a high perfromance focus builders guide from CFM. they built a standard DOHC zetec up to 237hp using a JRSC. according to them they had to use a M62 instead of a 45 thou. it was ran at 13psi . hears the list of mods according to the write up in the book
block-stock
crank-stock
rods-stock
pistons-stock
head-focus central ported
valves-stock
cams-crane stage 1 206/210
sprockets-aem
intake manifold-jackson racing
throttlebody-65mm
air intake-custom 3inch with cone filter
MAF-proM
header-focus sport long tube
exhaust-borla
injectors-36lb./hr
blower-jackson racing m62
boost level-13psi
engine management-stock
nitrous-no

during the dyno graph the power continued to rise to a final of 237hp near redline. the torque curve peaked at around 5g's at around 190ft/lbs then fell off. the numbers you want are obtainable.

this build up was done by muscle mustangs and fast fords entitled zx3-gt. the purpose was to build a zx3 that could run head to head with a stock GT mustang at the time in the quarter mile. with this set up the zx3 produced 13 second quarter mile passes. i think the m45 is going to limit as far as HP. but id check out the book. it is alil old but still has some useful info in it
