Duratec internals for boost!

I'm going to rip apart and rebuild my Duratec 2.0 with forged internals. I'm getting eagle H beam rods, bearings, and supertech pistons. From what you all have seen or heard, what is a better setup to go with to get the max power out of the duratec? I'm already running the FS stage 2 turbo kit on the stock internals. Higher compression pistons and lower boost OR lower compression pistons and higher boost? I'm going to running autox so low-mid range power is what I'm looking for. Thanks in advance for your help.

Also, CAMS???

always go with the lower compression with boost.

go with the supertech 9:1 pistons.. that will be best

and get crane stage 1 cams. those are the only ones randy will tune for free of charge. plus they are the best for our duratec with f/i.

Just because you buy 9-1 pistons does not mean you end up with 9-1

Eagle does not make 2.0 Duratec rods , I have some billet 2.0 rods for 595.00

^^^That's what I was thinking initially but I'm kinda curious how 11.6:1 on about 8psi would do with the crane stage 1s. How much boost would be safe on 9:1 compression pistons? What rpm is good for the crane stage 1s?

The high compression will severely limit your ability to make power. You may be safe with 7 or 8 psi, but much more won't be.

^^^That's true but wouldn't higher compression pistons help me on the bottom end? I could be wrong. I guess that's why I started the thread! lol

I was wrong about the rods also. They're F2 billet rods, not eagle.

It may help low end torque. But, you will be so limited in what boost levels you can run, that it would not be worth it.

Will the stock valvetrain hold up under high psi? I'm worried about pushing 22psi and stock valve springs not being able to close the valve against the boost and the valve getting stuck open and hitting the piston and the entire top end going to hell.

get that thing from f2 with the 9:1 pistons.. youll be fine. especially with your turbo youll be fine with low end torque. the turbo spools super fast. and youll be able to run 20psi with a good tune. even more with a j&s safeguard.

and its always good to upgrade valvesprings when you upgrade cams.. that what ill be doing..
