JRSC Rebuild improving off boost performance?!?

Well did quite a bit of driving upon receiving and installing the rebuilt blower. Now its either me being out of the drivers seat for a week or the car has improved performance when out of boost. The car seems to be accelerating better when not in boost. Any thoughts?

I would assume thats possible since the rebuild has new bearings and would be less resistant on the crank. But I could just be losing my mind.

To put it in more of a prespective, comparing pre rebuild versus post rebuild driving is like staying out of boost while having the A/C system on at the number 2 level and then turning it off and feeling that slight rejuvinated power. You can feel a difference.

So am I wacky or not. Did getting the rebuild truly cause that much of a decrease in resistance to increase out of boost performance?!? The car just doesnt feel as sluggish and certainly doesnt feel 130K old.

Side not, I am using a belt that is not as tight as the original JRSC BBK. I opted for a 106 3/8" O.C. versus the belt the 106" OC that came with the kit.

Glad to hear that you got the blower fixed and back on the car. Bad bearing probably had some drag on the engine would be my guess.

I have been using the 106.5" belt since install because my brother and I could not get the 105.5" belt that came with the BBK to go on. That said I have not had any issues with the longer belt and I have put close to 30,000 miles on it.

Its probly where you havent driven it in a while, rebuilding the blower should have nothing to do with "off boost" performance.
