Pick a kit that is complete and comes with tuning. that is the cheapest/best way. The headaches and cost of a junkyard turbo will FAR exceed a kit price in the end when you factor in custom tuning. If you cannot afford a kit, then SAVE for it. Do not cut corners.

saying you want to do a super cheap turbo kit is like saying you have a super hot fat girlfriend. Neither of them can be true!!!

I am looking around $2000 for my Duratec custom build. Most places want $3000 but require a set of hand tools and not alot of knowledge. Building a custom kit can be cheaper, but not as reliable... Got to look at the subject from both sides.... I opted to save money and use my knowledge to build my own kit.

take it from someone that has done it many times over.. TRUST ME!!! spend the money to do it right the first time... i have spent many of times trying to do it cheap and ended up spending well over 2 times as much as if i had just spent the money right the first time..... and i ended up doing it right later anyways... BTW good louck on the build.

Plan to set aside $4,000 to $5,000 for a decent setup. There's no CHEAP way to go FI. Good luck.
