another fried alt. due to jrsc

well it happened to me to my alternator took a crap on me. im about to take it off and get a new one. did anybody that put a new one back on put back one with the same number of stock amps 110 i beleive. and if so does it hold or will it go out to do i need to a get a higher amp one, hopefully not because i would have to wait a little bit to get some more money up.

i would get a higher amp one. Just to be safe. mine was replaced by the previous owner after he had the JRSC installed

mine is original. I havent had any problems with it. it was replaced under warrenty though. They also did the pigtail

Curious, why the alt. failed when technically the JRSC didn't do anything that would effect it?
Are you sure the pigtail isn't the real problem?

Or, are you chumming bearings due to a different load on the pulley?

i have been wondering this to it has happened to people before i guess its jsut overspinning the poor thing and it didnt like it. i dont know but it is dead and i need a new one. im gonna try a factory amp one a duralast brand that i can get at autozone 174.00 with core charge and hopefully it holds up if not then i now know it wont. if anybody else has swapped them due to jrsc let me know please.

DON'T get duracrap...acutally buy a nicer qualitt alt with lifetime. I got mine from napa and paid the same price with core for a lifetime. a little less without lifetime and i think it was around 156esh from napa.

it's a pita to change the alt with the jrsc so get an alt thats gonna last you a while atleast.

alright thanks for the advice i didnt know they were crap and i was gonna check on the lifetime i might get it rebuilt to if it can be any thoughts on that will it hold like new?
