Quick gauge question

SVT: Where are your engine temp and fuel level gauges positioned when you turn off the car? I just noticed mine go all the way to the left when I shut off the car then bounce immediately to straight up position(as if it were reading 1/2 tank). I dont ever remember seeing this before. What has me concerned is that 1.) I've never noticed this, and 2.) my temp needle dances with the car turned off, it dances to the left ever so slightly and sometimes not so slight then will correct itself to the straight up position.

My car runs/idles as perfect as I could ever expect, had it on a dyno a couple months ago with perfect A/F but I keep getting odd CEL's at times. My cheapo scanner will at times not read any DTC's and I'll erase the light, and sometimes the code is lean code or IAC or random misfire. During the dyno the guy said I had a lot of electrical interferience. I haven't gotten around to making my grounding kit yet. I've been chalking up the codes to my malfunctioning VSS and loose negative battery cable (trying to set the PW idle) but I fixed those last the weekend before last. I dont have a CEL light now and haven't had one for a few days. When I do get one it seems like it's at start up or when the temp needle is raising from cold start (I get the PW oil line humm sometimes so I notice when the needle is moving).

Any thoughts? and could someone give me a difinitive answer on the gauge position when the car is turned off...

My gauges definitely do not behave that way. They fall to zero, or empty or whatever you want to call it. And that's it until the next time I start the car.
