Turbo + Automatic = ?

Im seriously thinking about buying a stage1 (maybe stage2) turbo kit from focus sport this summer. For other power mods the car will likely have a cosworth intake mani and new header by the summer. already on the car is a truebendz 2.5" ss exhaust, and steeda sri (that will be gone obviously once the turbo is in). im wondering how well the d2.0 atx can handle this, and if its reasonable for a dd.

any help is really appreciated on this.

I'm no expert but there's tons of automatic turbo cars made by car companies so I wouldn't be to worried about it myself.

if your goin turbo, skip the header, you wont need it.

and again... Tom, the main person for focus fanatics, has an automatic and a stage 2 focussport turbo.

There is a company in Canada called Lentech that makes a beefed up ATX that will handle more horsepower you can make with just a bolt-on turbo kit. It costs close to $2k.

Really, the people you should call are Focus Sport. They did tests with ATX cars before releasing their turbo kit. Give them a call, and you'll find out more.

I wouldn't spend the money on the Cossie manifold if you're doing a turbo already. If you're bent on it, then I'd wait until you see what kind of performance you have with the stock manifold. If you want to really spend about that amount of money to boost the turbo output, then a little more for a larger TB and a ported head would be a better way to make more power.

OH, I forgot, if you do the head, you'll need a head gasket designed for turbo applications.

Take the money you would have spent on IM and put it towards IM you will see more performance for the money.
