roush kit reliability question

has anyone here logged crapton of miles on a basic roush turbo kit?
i found out andy's autosport carries the kit. and i was interested in the reliability of it. i ahve a stock motor with around 80k thats been decently maintained. and my only mod has been a magnaflow catback. she is a daily driver and i hope it can continue to be one.
so rosuhguys psot up and tell me what you liked and hated and how long it lasted under your hood.

Mine's been on for almost 3 years with no (major) problems. The car has a nice stock feel when you're just driving around casually. At stock boost (6 PSI), the power is not too great, but it's enough to not be embarrassed by soccer moms in their minivans anymore.

My only critique of the kit is the turbo placement. It sits just under the hood, and boy does the hood heat up when you've been boosting. Even with casual driving, my car looks like its overheating every time it rains because the rain instantly evaporates into steam when it hits the hood.

Do have any heat shielding on the hot side of the turbo? It is about an inch from the hood, so I can understand the hood getting hot. The hood itself doesn't get too hot, I can still hold my hand on it. It's just hot enough to vaporize water within a second of hitting the hood.

brenton we need to do a compression test on your motor. The kit's reliability is not what you have to worry about, whats more important is whether youre getting good compression in the cylinders and how good your tune is

also imo the kit youre looking at is way overpriced

start engine

pull fuel pump fuse

turn off motor when it sounds like death

pull coilpack harness out (just for safety)

remove spark plug wires

remove spark plugs, dont get them mixed up

install compression tester

crank engine over 5-6 times, until the pressure doesnt go up anymore

record pressure

move to next cylinder
