Help with Focus SVT turbo

well after 1 year and a half of being with the mechanic at last i went for my car, before all this it was working with the turbo very well until i went to a clutch change and the mechanic put some contaminated oil to the engine and blew it :( after that i rebuilt the engine and put some other things, this is the list of parts that i have in the car right now :

Turbo Garret 50Trim @ 11 PSI | Blow Off Valve HKS SSQ | Wideband UEGO AEM Air/Fuel Gauge Controller | Tial Sport Wastegate 38mm | Exhaust line 3" | FMIC | SRT-4 Fuel Injectors 550cc |

my only problem now are those SRT injectors are way too big i have backfire, in low RPM´s i have trouble to accelerate the car, smoke and fuel economy is ridiculous so i buy an apexi safc but i dont know what else i need to install it, do u recommend it? or i should use a FPR?

by the way, today when i arrive home i start the car again to move it and i heard an explosion that happened twice before, was the MAF unfortunately :( can be a shot circuit?? or is for my excessive fuel problem??

Its your excessive fuel problem. When you start a car the spark don't fire in order, they fire everytime. So when it backfires and a valve is open it travel backwards through your intake mani and charge piping.

Happened to me, and broke the braket holding the intake mani to the car.

That's why I don't mess with the Super AFC. If you really don't know what you're (not you necessarily, but the installer) doing, that can lead to all sorts of problems.

I have all entire kit waiting to go on the car, but I still have to get a 3" MAF tube, and a Diablo MAFia. I've got 60lb. Deka injectors and those should fuel the engine plenty.

Just a side question, are any of you two running a manual or electronic boost controller?

The biggest problem is you dont have a tune... your trying to use a worthless AF gauge controller that wont work with the SVT Focus.

The SVT's ECU is a learning ECU... that mean no matter what you do to it, the ECU will learn around all the mods you have done and try to go back to a more stock configuration. And without making changes in the ECU its still firing off your injectors like they are the smaller ones... which is giving you way too much fuel.

You seriously need a dyno tune before you blow your shit up.

I would suggest getting rid of the SAFC since it's incompatible. As far as a getting a tune from Tom, you can request a conservative tune, until you can afford a J&S Safeguard system, and get a Diable MAFia. Then Tom should be able to hook you up.

Forgot to add, PM him here (1turbofocus) for more questions and I would just give him a call to buy the DiabloSport predator from him too. His number can be found at www.focus-power.com Make sure to tell him you're a FF member here.
