Duratech Head + Turbo?

I'm getting a FS turbo for my 2003 Focus in the next six months and am wondering if this might go well with it?

My goal is to have a fast fun daily driver (200+whp)

"F2 is developing our own duratec head that will help the 2.3L and 2.0L engines breath a lot easier! Our heads will be ideal for the 2.0L but will give the 2.3L much greater power that can be had. The head will be ported and polished and include Stage 2 cams and retainers and valve springs from Crower Cams. The valves will be stock but other head options will be available as special order units.

OK so the wait is over as the first head has been been done and we will begine testing in one week. The heads will come fully prepared and all parts installed....all you have to do is install it and make sure the engine and valve train are installed per the Ford Manual which we will give you instructions on that.

The heads will come with Crower cams and your choice of Stage1,2 or 3. You will also get titamium retainers and valve springs. The head will be fully ported and polished and all parts installed. In the meantime please take a look at the pictures that are on the link below so you can see our head."

Is this worth getting or not for my applications? Thanks!

It sounds like with that kit you will be able to have a higher boost and put out more power. If you are just trying to put out low boost to get the car near 200 hp it might be more then you need. I am not really the expert in this field, just offering my opinion

FS stage 2 will make over 220whp and tq on a 2.3L such as yours. If you want more power than that Id say focus (no pun =P) on a built bottom end because our rods dont like more than ~12psi

you should be making some good power. But yeah you won't be able to go over 11 psi untill you built out the bottem end.

correct as stated above, if you get the stage 2 FS turbo kit for your 2.3L you'll easily clear the 200whp+ DD mark.. so you wont have to spend another 1k on a head...

i would put that money towards a new clutch and flywheel.

If you're dropping the FS turbo kit on a stock motor I wouldn't worry about the F2 head. That being said the Ford Racing CNC'ed head flows about 10-20% better than the stock head for around $850-950 and F2 can get you one. It would be a good upgrade from stock and if you want later you can have it ported and polished, larger valves, etc.

Ford did a good job with the Duratec head. I'd beef up the motor first.

until f2 actually releases their head package, it's pointless to even consider it. like everyone else said, fs turbo will make enough power on its own to exceed the capacities of your rods.
