Cool stand alone engine management

this question is for those in the know! what is the best bang for your buck? i have been reading up on alot of choices and dont know what brand to go with and dont really have anyone to check it out with me----- i know tom is god and would like to hear his input----- im probably planning on going turbo setup and would like see whats up!!!!

If you're really hell bent on going stand alone - (I wouldn't think you'd really need to unless you were REALLY talking about some SERIOUS power - The flashers and chips are awfully good) but alot depends on how much you can do yourself. I think there's a hydra system where you do a great deal (most) of the wiring yourself so it's less expensive, but more prep\setup intensive - that may or may not be the one, but you get the idea. On the other end of the spectrum there's something like AEM's EMS where it's plug and play, but it's more money up front.

Why not just go with the SCT Pro Racer package ? By the time you wire in a stand alone most good tuners can have your car tuned and ready to go , The stock ECU has more options to controle that are needed and the adjustability and speed is better with the stock ECU then anything out there

The ONLY + to a stand alone is on the fly adjustability and that isnt that big of a deal

I agree, the stock ECU does have alot more functionality than a stand alone.
