Question GT28RS "Disco Potato"

I'm trying to build a DIY turbo system using the Disco Potato (12lb boost, 250+ RWHP?). Is 2" all u can get as an exhaust flange (to down pipe). See:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/T25-T...ayphotohosting
Is this ebay item a good price ($55 w/ shipping)?
I wanted to run a 2.5" exhaust straight back with "off road pipe" and flow through muffler.
Can I just have a 2.5" down pipe welded to this exhaust flange without much flow restriction?
Better to run 2.5" exhaust or 3"??

Another thing, With the GT28RS, I'm planning to use a 70mm MAF, already have an intercooler (Core Length : 20.5", Core Height: 6", Core Thickness: 2 3/8", Inlet/Outlet Size: 2.75" OD) and a Cosworth intake manifold (will this even fit my SVT?).
Are 42# injectors fine for 250+ RWHP, or should I get the Siemen's 60#??
Custom billet fuel rail (beautiful and not that expensive) or stock (SVT)?
Do I need a thicker head gasket to lower the stock SVT's compresion (not ready for forged FI pistons)??
Do I need a J&S safeguard??

I also already have a DiabloSport Predator, a DiabloSport MAFia, and a SCT Raptor Datalogger.

Need answers soon,
Red Sonja

Yes, you can weld anysize pipe to the flange, I run 3" on mine... the opening in the flange being 2 inch wont hurt anything.

That size intercooler will be fine, but I would definitly look into a 3" MAF housing... you're going to need it... Not sure on the Cosworth.. never have seen one.

I would run a minimun of 50# injectors, stock fuel rail is fine but you may want to look at the Kenne Bell Boost-a-pump... the SVT fuel pump tends to start dropping off at 12psi of boost (due to demand)

The stock compression is fine ( I personally made 365whp on an all stock motor) and finally ... YES you do need a J&S... but me and Tom are looking into a few more aspects of the SCT software that MAY enable us to get away from having to buy the J&S.

Pretty sure the only Cosworth intake manifold for our cars is for the Duratec, and I doubt it would fit back there anyway even if it did bolt up.

03OrangeSVT, thanks for the info. PLEASE keep me informed (even PM) on Tom and your work/success on eliminating the need for the J&S (w/ the SCT software). I will be assembling my GT28RS system early summer.

Sorry, I have no idea of why it's called the "Disco Potato". All I could find was this from the "Urban Dictionary"... Slang name for a GT2860R (GT28RS) Turbo
Usually used in conjunction with a Nissan SR20DET powerplant.

One other thing... I have found a GT28Rs but it has the internal waste-gate. I was planning to run an external, remotely adjustable waste-gate. How do i remove or shut down the internal one?

Just located maybe "the" explanation for that name. The following is an excerpt...

"A year and a half ago, we drove a very unlikely Sentra. Dubbed the Disco Potato for its unique combination of psychedelic color-shifting paint and unfortunate Jerry Hirshberg styling, the car was the culmination of the clandestine efforts of a few very driven engineers."

A link to the whole story is: http://www.sportcompactcarweb.com/pr...t_2/index.html

Still need coments/answers to the following...

Is there much advantage to running a 3" over a 2.5" full exhaust (off-road "down pipe" and only a straight through Magnaflow muffler)??
70mm (2.75") or 76mm (3") MAF (the rest of my intake i think will be 3"), and who makes them?
Custom turbo exhaust manifold (from whom) or stock SVT header w/ separate sump and oil return pump (price is a concern)?
