Base Tune

Does anybody know where i can get a base tune for a predator? Im just wanting a safe simple base tune for 42lb injectors with the timing pulled so i can start my car and run it down the road to make sure there is no exhaust or intercooler leaks and to make sure the turbo, bov, and wastegate is working. Oh the car is a svt with a presion turbo kit.

Thanks

and there's a good reason for that. why not invest in one? you'll definitely want one before you get your dyno tuning done anyway

Listen to tom you need a J&S for SVT's. He has no way to monitor knock, or any other tuner for that matter. You could blow and never seen it coming.

Hey TOM, How much kickback are you getting from J&S by pushing it on people? What are you going to do if you tune a car...PUT A BASE TUNE IN IT AND PUT IT ON THE DYNO AND SEE HOW THINGS ARE WORKING RIGHT? He can't put 42lb injectors and a bigger MAF tube on and drive it anywhere now can he? He's not talking about a base tune so he can go drag race it, he's talking about a tune that he can drive on and test for any problems. Do you think he wants to drive it to get it tuned and find out that the wastegate is trashed, or the BOV leaks? Do you just think everyone is dumb? Smart people know that you don't go and run a car flat out without a tune. I don't believe the crap about the J&S either, you just push it on people because there is something in it for you. If you tuned cars as good as you got people tricked into thinking you do, then you'd know enough to pull a few degrees of timing and add a little more fuel after you're done to keep things safe, just in case. If someone were pushing 350-400hp, yea I'd say go with a little extra insurance, but for a mild turbo, it's not needed. Why would you even tune a car that close to the edge of being safe? Just to see the numbers? Why not get the big numbers on the dyno and back it down some? Is 10hp or so worth the risk of destroying an engine, or worth the extra 500 bucks for a safeguard? What if the J&S messed up? Can you guarantee anything at all?

Ahhhh, Words of wisdom from a Jr. Tuner that has tuned how many SVT Boosted Foci ? What ? What was that you said ? NONE , Yea thats what I thought

Before you come into my world at least know what your talking about instead of this half a$$ed comment you just made that makes you look like a total idiot

The only way he can test the BOV is to make boost to its set boost what if it does not work right it hits 20psi ,Vac line comes off , bost controler screws up,etc if you know anything about turbos it would hit 20psi in 3rd gear before you could lift , you with your "vast" knowledge are you going to replace his engine are you realy this SVT Boosted lacking ? or just turbos in general

As for the "If you tuned cars as good as you got people tricked into thinking you do" Then why did he come to me FIRST to get his tune, Here I will tell you , Because I am the best at tuning the SVT and was tuning it over 2 years before anyone elses even know it could be tuned. Yes and it does not bother me in the least to say it

Contact livinlots on here and ask him what just happened to his engine with his tuner and about 40 other SVT owners that have BLOWN there SVT engine with it properly tuned that I didnt even tuch but told each of them they needed the J&S now have new engines

As for me making anything off the J&S , I dont even sell them and send everyone to c-f-m or else ware to get them , John and I from J&S have butted heads many times over the need for the unit on the Focus and if you knew what you were talking about at all you would know that

Sence no 2 SVT are alike (ask pw they tried one tune fits all and loot at that disaster) how much timing would you think his car needed ? You should know this pooring out all that tuning knowledge you must have ?

Tom
