Question Turbo? Exhuast? what should i do?

I have a 2002 ford focus sedan ZX4 se with nothing special just the regular engine not zetec or svt just the 2.0 boring regular. I want more speed and power and sound. Should i do exhuast or just a muffler. Turbo? aren't turbos way cheaper than a supercharger? does any company make turbos for a non zetec engine? what about cool air intake? will that maek a diferance? What do you reccomend? i am willing to spend probably like 1500 on a turbo? if thats enough?

If I was you I would research a little more. There is no way you will be able to make a turbo kit for 1,500 judging by your knowledge. What engine do you have? 2.0 Zetec or SPI? I heard the SPI engines can go turbo for cheap. If I had 1500 dollars I would do the Intake/Exhaust/Headers/Tune. But if you just want speed then you can get a tune and take off your speed gov. and for sound you can purchase headers and full exhaust and it will be loud. But if I was you I would do a little more research on performance parts.

Do some research on the SPI forums. You can make your own custom turbo kit for like a little over 1k grand. A tune is when they reprogram your cars computer.

Nobody makes a commercial turbo kit for the SPI, and unless there was one when the engine was Ford's mainstream I4 in the late 80s to mid-90s I don't believe there is a bolt-on supercharger for the SPI either.

You can piece together your own kit with junkyard parts or if you have a LOT of cash pay a fabricator to build a one-off kit for you. If you know how to do most of the work yourself you can boost your engine for ~$1500.

By tuning, they mean putting your car on a dyno and having someone who knows what they're doing do runs and montior the air/fuel ratio and a number of other conditions and then re-writing the tune on the ECU to safely run the engine without blowing it up.
