Need some opinions on boost

I've decided to boost the wife's ST. I don't expect to have the fastest boosted car ever, but I do want it to be up there with srt4s and the like. I just want to get some opinions first. Heres what I have in mind so far.

Stage 2 Focus Sport turbo kit
LSD and bigger clutch
3" exhaust

I just need some input on all the extra stuff or maybe even a different kit. Would the FS cams, throttle body or anything else benefit the turbo kit? Is there another kit that I should be looking at for more power? I'm not really looking to fab anything. The car is a daily driver and I'm planning to keep it that way after the build. I just need some of you to point me in the right direction. The budget I have in mind when all said and done(turbo kit, clutch, LSD, and all extras) is right at about $7k. I'd like to keep it at $6k, but I know that isn't going to happen. I'll do the turbo first, then when the clutch goes out, I'll thow in another and do the LSD at the same time.

Any comments are appreciated.

dont forget a lightweight flywheel since you'll have the tranny off. i don't think you will really need cams... unless you get custom grinds for FI. if you just want a DD with mroe power then that seems to sufice, get a it tuned pefectly and you will be set! and you better have the clutch ready to go sooner than you think lol... once you have the boost available... you WILL use it and it's only a matter of days when you slip or blow the clutch...

oh and make sure you get some good gauges to keep an eye on your setup... wideband a/f, egt, boost, oil pressure.

srt4's are pretty quick you will need to push the stock motor pretty hard to catch one. like 220whp is a good start.. and if they mod it you are out of luck

Well if 220 is a good start, then the stage 2 sounds pretty good sitting at 245ish on an ST.

So no cams with the turbo kit? What about another throttle body, intake manifold, or any other bolt ons?

As soon as I get a few more questions answered, boost here I come.

you don't need a newer bigger throttle body... orange on here had his svt with over 350hp on his stock tb... you should be good with your manifold already. i don't know if 245 is really pushing it on stock internals though. the tune will need to be very good. you don't want to have to tear the engine apart after it's all said and done. if you want to get decent numbers and run against srt-4's than you should upgrade your engine's internals, then if the time comes if you want to up the boost, you can without any fear.

I def don't plan on tearing into the internals anytime soon. I've heard and read that past 12 psi is when you start running in to internal problems.

So pretty much just the turbo kit itself then? Thats cool. That just cleared up about atleast $600 that I had in mind for cams and springs. As soon I get rid of my 350 s10 or sell my old house, be expecting a turbo build thread.
