Procharger ... Why is it an allen!!!

Well, i was changing my oil in my procharger... and guess what... the freaking allen bolt thing to put the oil in was on super hard..... so... I pulled hard on it and yup, it striped.... well awesome.... wtf.....

So... do i drill into it??? what the hell can i do now? especially since its at such a freaking pita angle....

The oil i drained.. it was grey.... REALLY thick grey..... is that what you other procharger guys noticed?

It's a female allen head bolt or plug? Don't drill it...use an extractor that doesn't need drilling. Before you try that, be sure you soak it with something like PB Blaster or other rust busting penetrant. Tap on the bolt as the oil sits on it. Get an allen wrench just a hair larger than the one that stripped out and carefully hammer it into the hole if you have room. There are lots of tricks, just be patient.

i use a 1/4 rachet to litely tighten the allen, first oil change found that it got even tighter after useing a 3/8 rachet. if u get metal shaving inside the ProCharger make sure you take it to a place where they have a parts cleaner tank so u can flush it out

I would take it to some one that knows how to weld , and have him weld a bolt to it then back it out , keep the rest of the charger cool with a wet rag and just have him weld it slowly then it will screw right out

I actually had the same probelm. I took a dremel and carefully slotted the top of the plug. Used a big flat head screw driver to turn it out. Once I had it out, I welded the head of a bolt to the plug. Now I use a 10mm socket to take it out.
