Cam timing has little to nothing to do with Engine combustion /Ignition timing

One is done with the cam gears and the other is done with timing map through the ECU

yes.. adjustable cam gears control valve timing (when valves open). ignition timing (spark plug firing) is controlled by the ecu

Good question. I have a set that I have yet to install and I wonder if adjusting the cam timing will affect boost levels. I have yet to see more tham 8.5 lbs. of boost with the PW kit and I wonder if that is because of a free-flowing exhaust, the Crane cams, the altitude (around 3300 ft. ASL) or cam timing (or a combination of all the above).

changing the cam timing can affect the power made on a boosted motor as well, it can also affect spool up. although when Tom adjusted mine on the dyno last week coming off 0 did nothing to help me.

I see. Ok looks like it might be something i get after i boost. If it isnt going to affect it enough then i would rather spend the money on other more important parts.

Hi Ian. My Friend's ZX5 stock with PW is making over 10PSI....so combination of your exhaust and cams is the reason I believe ;-)
