Anyone here ever....

Play with the idea of building a compound supercharger? I know it'd be loads and loads of custom fab and tuning... Just curious...

nov - I can't really find alot out about it... I know someone ran in on an MR2... i'm sure it goes by a bunch of different names, but this link explains it a bit... basically it's instant boost at idle via a roots SC (that disengages at a certain RPM) and a turbo takes over from there...

front what I understand about the way VW does it, they have a SC with a centrifugal clutch on the pulley and once it spins up to a particular RPM the clutch disengages the SC pulley, and by then the turbo is spooled and ready to rock.

and foos05 please don't be a jerk. I was just mentioning that VW does it and i figured it'd be a good place to so do some research if you're interested in the project.
