i wanna get sum opinions on wheather they think that an internal or external wastegate is better. which and why...

external.. they are more precise with less boost creep & spike. and they cause less turbulence in the exhaust for faster spool. i have an srt4 and a turbo focus. the srt4 has an internal wastegate and it is HORRIBLE, we just bought a agp manifold and will be going external on it as soon as the focus build is finished.

ive herd that an un muffled external wastegate is illeagle, i want to go external when i turbo, is this true, does it have to have a muffling device

^^^ Nitrous is illegal on the street, too.

I know many guys with "unmuffled" wastegates and they have never been stopped for it... If its really loud, its not hard to quiet it down a bit.

i have a unmuffled wastegate. it just has a race pipe on it ans is a stright dump out in to the air, not back info the downpipe. and it is loud but i have never had any problems. my friends say they can always hear me comming down the road....

yeah you can only hear it when you are wide open so you were probably going to get pulled over any way it that scenario, lol
