ok cooling ideas...

Ok fellas I need your help once again. . I have a major cooling issue.. Right now I have the factory radiator with a slim fan on it.. So thats cool and all but here is my problem.. I dont have enough room for another fan on it and the factory fans will not fit.And I cannot fit a fan on the front of my radiator. I seriously have about 1/4 in between my radiator and my turbo.. An my car likes to over heat. I have my turbo mani wrapped already.. I probably have about 4 square inches of space on my radiator that i could fit another fan but i cant find one that is less than about 8in. My current fan i think puts out about 1700-1900 cfm which is WAY less than factory. I already have the water wetter in it and i flushed it out changed the thermostat and still on hot days it over heats, when i run my ac it over heats. its ok if im moving but i cant always stay moving...lol.. So i need some help on trying to figure out how to get my car to run cooler.. i have thought about A performance radiator but my problem is only when sitting still. and I have also heard that all the performance radiators are thicker.... not sure of this though Mabye some peopl can get creative and help me solve this problem i ham having ....Thanks

Well, you have done the watter wetter ( it helps a little ) so the only things left are a bigger rad. Or another fan. Or an oil cooler, but the first two are the way to go.

Tony D. at Newedgeperformance.com had some griffin radiators for the focus a while back, try that. Look for a smaller fan to add to what you have. You can go with slimlines from flex-a-lite or do the junk yard route. The AC fan on a Kia SUV is VERY slim. I should know, there are two on the front of my mustang radiator.

No rrom at all up front. I have seen fans under 3"" thick at 11 inches square. I have one extra on the front of my mustang ( that little kia fan ) and it made the difference between getting hot at a light and staying cool in traffic.

Tom? Do you think a large volume oil cooler with a fan would do him any good? You could put that anywhere you want.

I"ve seen guys screw around with computer fans, but I think they don't move enough air to do squat.

I wish I could see your set-up.

i use 2 computer fans on my cabinet to keep my receiver cool and i put a air filter on it to so it will keep it clean too .... another story

when i bought them they were rated at only 750 cfm at the most and a four inch fan on a radiator isnt anything plus the low volume

i know a guy who drives a tow truck and they keep cooking the ATX so they are putting a ac condenser from a firebird or something in there as a tranny cooler

other than that scrap of help i cant help ya but another rad. or a oil cooler sounds like a logical path

Mount a fan on the underside of your hood.
