Supercharger Questions

After trying to piece together a turbo kit for my SVT, I've decided o not go that route anymore. I've been thinking about the getting either the Procharger Tuner kit, or the Powerworks kit.

I know both can make big power, and I have the components needed for the PC tuner kit that does not come with it. I have seen the PC kit make well over 300hp with ample amount of torque, but I have not seen how much power you can get out of the PW kit.

For the most part, the car will be a DD and a weekend warrior, with an additional car show here and there.

So my question to you, the Focus Community, is has anyone seen the max power of the Powerworks kit can put out?

-Mike

(P.S. I have a pretty hefty build going into either kit and I'm wanting to see which is better for my style.)

If I remember ...you have to rebuild engine if you wanna go 300 with powerworks as you will be pushing a lot of PSI.....you should be able to hit that mark with Procharger and 15PSI pulley....

They're both nasty. I think the PW gives you more instant power and the PC is more high end.

I've heard numbers around 300HP with the PWSC, big boost kit, built motor and a nasty tune, and numbers more like 250HP with a conservative tune.

I'm saving up for mine so if you want to wait another couple months I'll be able to tell you just how far the PW can be pushed...

Has anyone gotten over 300HP with the powerworks kit? I thought on the average the PC is pushing bigger numbers...but I could be wrong.

The engine that I will be using will be built. Stock compression with forge rods and pistons among a lot of other things (can't ruin the suprise now). The donor engine is, sadly, out of a friend of mine's wrecked SVT. (RIP Screaming Yellow EAP)

The original plan was to lower the compression. If it yields more HP and torque if we lower it, then we may go that direction instead of stock compression.

The powerworks stock makes about 205-210. With a good tune and the right bolt ons, 230...With a BBK and a svt short block 260+, and full build with the next step down in pulley size made 286, but a 30 ft-lb. jump in torque.

These are all dynos of my friends cars with PWSC that I have seen first hand... With a good tune and the big boost kit you will make 250+ with no problems. Its not 300, but its FAST and a blast to drive.
