Should I do nitrous???

To be honest, I am quite afraid of it. I want to go fast, but I dont have the patience to wait for a year for me to save up the $3000 for a supercharger. And all my freinds say that it is cheap, reliable horsepower. Here are my questions:

Is it reliable? I do drive this car everyday. I am not planing on using it all the time, just every once in a while.

Shoudl I get a wet or dry system? WHich one is safer/less hard on the engine?

I have 50K on my stock internals, is this too much for nitrous?

Is there any parts I need to upgrade to handle this? Like a new fuel pump or injectors?

Is my engine still going to last me past 100k miles like it was built to do? As long as I am not stupid with it and only use it when I need it?

Here are my performance mods, am i going to run into any problems with these?
-focussport cold air intake
-focussport stealth exhaust
-FR2 cams w/ adjustabel gears (are stock cams better?)
-VF rear torque motor mount
-SCT multi-program chip (the one I am most worried about maybe messing with the mixture)
-Screamin'Deamon coil pack and livewires
-Focussport underdrive pulley (yes, I am a focussport whore lol)

I am looking at this kit if I go for the wet kit.

Or I could do this one so I can start with the 35 shot instead of jumping right into the 55 shot of the ZEX kit. BUt this one is a dry kit, I dont know which is better for hte engine.

What do you think?

Please, ease my worries.
Braden

Sure, why not? 35 shot should be nice and safe. Also could be fun (in bursts).

^^^ Good for you, okay this will be quick and dirty:
Yes, very
WET
No I have 92K and put the nitrous on at 16k
Not really, 50 shot or less is fine, maybe even a 75 on stock stuff.

You will prolly need to drop the tune, as most NA tunes advance the timing, BAD for nitrous use. You could get a nitrous tune

Do a 50 shot, 35 is boring, and get a bottle heater and do it right.

Thanks Viney. Do you recomend the ZEX wet kit I posted above? So far, that is my favorite that I have found. I installed the cams and gears myself, do you think I can do the wet kit myself?
I bought the tune chip cause I was getting detonation problems from the cams increasing the compression. That sucks that I have to get rid of it now. Especially considering how much I spent on that chip lol.
Anything else I NEED to get to run wet nitrous kit safely and reliably?

If you can did cams and gears you will be fine doing a nitrous kit. I have mostly done NOS and NX kits, but the zex stuff seems to be fine as well.

haha i bet your right there. my first night, tonight, started with a 50 shot and i'm ready for a 75 already!! lol however i am pretty rich cuz i put a 22 pill in instead of a 20 so the hit could be a little better.

well, you're at least gonna want a WOT switch and a window switch. i would also get a bottle warmer too. there's some other nice things you could get too but you don't really need.

^^ Lol. Sounds good. I think I will have to get a ZEX wet kit now. As for a bottle heater, I dont think I will need it right now. It just warms it to 85 F right? Well, around here it has been getting to about 105 every day lol. It will happen though. Right now I am jsut worried about what I need to make it safe and reliable system. Anyone know the best place to get a RPM switch? And does anyone know if the zex kit comes with a WOT switch?

yeah, right now you don't need a bottle warmer. earlier today when i turned the bottle on it was 900 psi right off the bat. once it gets colder, you're gonna want it.
