Smile SVT Procharger vs. Powerworks

I read into jfmctt's post about the Powerworks but didnt get all the info I needed. Same with searching the forums as well.

What are the pros and cons of each? Excluding prices...

From what i've learned and heard (please coreect if wrong)...

Stock Procharger:
8lbs of boost
240 whp
Very reliable stock

Stock Powerworks:
10lbs of boost
250 whp
have had problems

Please correct the above if wrong. Im just trying to decide between the two.
I'd like a good amount of power... but im more into reliability.

Thanks,
Nathan

just speaking from personal experience... i have had zero problems with my PW kit. it went in 7 months and (a very hard) 10k miles ago. even on a stock clutch, no slippage. i have a zx3 though, but i can't imagine the reliability being all that different.

I'm going to break it down into what i know, and list things.

Powerworks
-Roots style
-Almost instant boost, power and torque.
-Torque will flatline at higher rpms
-Will run out of room for expansion.
-Not many custom fab. options as with centrifugal
-Will run like a scalded dog from a slow roll
-Possible to be ported out for more flow and power

Procharger
-Centrifugal style
-Will behave similar to a turbocharger with somewhat spool up time/lag
-Will have a bit of lag in it as there is piping for the air to run through
-Can be swapped out for a larger unit with some custom fab work
-More torque in higher rpms
-Torque wont flatline as quick
-Beastly in higher rpms

granted both of these are superchargers, and theres gonna be hardly any lag, but from MY knowledge, and i do not profess to be a Guru on any of this, neither should experiance dramatic lag. oh and i think with the procharger you can use a BOV..havent i seen that done?

At 11 psi on the procharger, how safe is that? What I plan on having done to the car at the time will be my current Borla set-up and my Diablosport Predator tuner hopefully retuned by Tom for the S/C. Then the Procharger itself (boost undetermined) and last, new spark plugs and Wires. Maybe a month later, new clutch and flywheel.

Also, what size fuel injectors do I need for regular drving, not much racing.

Thanks for the help guys!
