Exclamation URGENT oil psi question!

please help...
i went turbo a few months ago and mechanic wouldnt install my mechanical oil pressure guage so i was forced to run to autozone and buy a cheap Faze electrical oil pressure gauge for him to install. now the question is.. Is it normal for the needle to constantly shake and bounce around??? its been doing it since it was installed and it used to bounce and shake around the area where it should be but today it started shaking and bouncing around "0"psi and scared the out of me. but then it rattled its way up to 60 or so psi. but it started dropping in the 20s while under load when i thought it should be in the 70-90psi range. when i hold the clutch in it goes up to 50 or so sometimes 75 and seems to be fine.

so could i have a oil pressure problem?
is it the cheap gauge ?
is any of this normal?
could the gagues sensor thing be bad?

i would really appriciate any help asap. i dont wanna drive it if theres any risks. well i know theres risks but what is the likely problem?

please help and thx in advance,
Dan

It sounds like a loose connection at the sender or the back of the gauge..that is what I would check first. But in the long run, If it were my vehicle I would ditch the cheap gauge and buy a name brand, reliable gauge.

i just found out that foci have a oil pressure light. the light hasnt come on. so others are asking where the sending unit is located and if its stock or the one that came with the gauge. neither of those i can answer.

now could it be a clogged oil filter or running wrong oil? i doubt wrong oil would cause that. and what about if my braided oil line runs too close to the headers? i know it needs to be relocated.

I would suspect the gauge...if you're not getting any idiot lights on the gauge cluster you should be fine. I would take any readings on that gauge with a grain of salt.
