turbo+emmisions=impossible equation?

so anyone who lives in new york knows how gay emissions testing is (and any other state with emissions laws)

now i want to turbo my 2.3 ST but i just realized a problem with this, doesnt the flex pipe replace the CAT?

can the turbo be run properly if i choose to use the CAT instead of the flex? or will it even fit right?

and since im planning on buying and aftermarket exhaust at the same time anyway, would it be a horrible idea to buy a high-flo CAT, and fabricate that farther back into the piping on a new exhaust while leaving the flex pipe in place?

someone with a turbo and emission laws help!

I can tell you this much. With a focusport turbo (which is what I have) the cat does come off. Also the egr, and a couple O2 sensors to boot. I have seen people bring up the idea of putting in a cat further back. Maybe that could work, I don't know. Ask Focussport, they could tell you for sure, so you don't have to get people guessing. But even with that, you still have the missing egr and O2 sensors to deal with. You could ask about that too I guess.

You can weld a cat lower on your cat back, and have a thing that when you go for the test you can put it on and when you leave just take it off. Or just weld it and forget it.
