i don't see a problem with it. it would make for a fun ass atx. you are just limited on how much boost you want to go due to the transmission giving out, but it doesn't matter much anyway cuz your internals should be upgraded if ur going to hit high boost numbers really.

about the kit.. i dont remember hearing anything negative about it. if you got the money to spend on it... hey do it. i wish i had the cash to get a kit.

thanks guys.... i dont have the cash now, its more of a down the road option... i wanted opinions though. i havent heard any negative comments on that kit. and i figured the boost would make for a nice fun atx... i made this decision today when i heard my dad pull away in his f350 and i could hear the turbos spooling... it was nice, and when i pay the car off i wanna do some work... so its a down the road thing... thanks for the comments

I know randy at fs says they have had no problems yet and they have some cars with over 30,000 miles on the kits.

I was looking to do the same thing to my ATX Focus when I had it. The reason I didn't was because the guy at the shop said they just had a guy come in who had one put on and he had blown his engine.

I imagine it was some dumb kid with a manual who just got the kit put on and wasn't expecting to have to shift so much faster. Probably riding 1st at 70mph. The mechanic wasn't sure if it was the kit that faulted or what. Any kit, no matter how good, if applied incorrectly will break stuff. I doubt the FS kit would actually hurt anything if you don't force it to do what it's not supposed to.

If you end up doing it, or if anybody has one, I'd be interested to hear how it's turned out though. It's an even bigger temptation to get one now that I have a MTX.

I have the FS turbo kit. People are amazed at how clean the kit looks. It has performed very well. Stage 1 puts out 8 psi, and stage 2 11. So either one is quite conservative. Duratecs are supposed to be able to handle up to 12 on stock internals. I have the stage 1 for now, and it adds quite a bit of go.

Just to keep things accurate, if you are indeed in Michigan and the mechanic is also in Michigan, I can tell you that whatever kit blew an engine, it wasn't a FocusSport kit. I communicate with all of our Michigan kit owners regularly and all are doing well.
