SVT Procharger Install Question....

Well im doing a pre-install to figure out what nuts/bolts/studs I need for my procharger kit I just picked up. I have everything figured out except ....

What does the key on the pulley look like? I have a Keyway in the supercharger shaft and a keyway in the pulley. I think im missing a part? Im going to call ATI on monday and see what they can do about sending me a new key.

BTW.... PROCHARGER INSTRUCTIONS SUCK!!! Anyone help me out with detailed install instructions?... or am I going to have to make them and post them up as a HOW-TO when im finished?

Both the pulley and the blower shaft are slotted for the key, which will look like a small metal bar. Should have been in the bag with all the bolts and stuff, near the bearing.

It is only one piece, which slides into the blower shaft and secures the pulley. It won't seem long enough, but I assure you, it is.

When you receive it, you might have to cut it shorter. I know when I received my second one, it was to long.

The key looks like a long square piece of metal. It will definitely have to be shortened when you recieve it. Make sure you have all the metal spacers, too that fit over the S/C shaft. Mine were missing as well as the key. You're doing the same thing I'm doing. I was test fitting the intercooler piping and found that it didn't fit right. They don't give you enough bends to turn 180 degrees when you're trying to get from the intercooler to the T/B. I'm in the process of trying to find a way to mod my AEM CAI to work with the 180 bend from the ZX3 kit.
You're probably going to have to call ATI and get the rest of the piping. Keep posting, I'd like to know how the install's going for you. PM me if you want, we can share notes...

If you have the need for someone in person, you can always call me at 800-849-0233 and ask for Mike in parts. I have done quite a few of these. And YES, Prochargers instructions are terrible. Everyone that I have sold and not installed, i always tell them to call, theres quite a few things that you need to do to make it right that they dont tell you. By the way, if you call Procharger, ask to speak with Shannon and tell him i sent you. May save you a bit of hassle.

Well I called ATI and ordered the missing m8 studs for the AC bracket, m6 stud for the back of the Procharger bracket and a key way. The kit I have has been converted to FMIC and I test fit the piping to see if I would need any couplers or bends .. but all is well

Low and behold, I was able to use the entire AEM CAI and the 180 bend to attach the intercooler outlet to the T/B. The only mod I had to make, was cutting off the CAI bracket that attaches to the radiator support. It didn't even neeed to be bent!! In the meantime, I've ordered a temp tune from VMP so I can get the car to them when it's finally finished. Next up, test fitting the S/C bracket and the S/C to see if everything lines up.
Very nice on the FMIC I guess my mods wont work for you then...good luck
