Hello from WA state!

Just joined the forum and wanted to say, "nice site," and "hello!"

I am looking to purchase a '99 Birkin S3 (Lotus Super Seven) powered by a Y2K 2.0l Zetec motor. I figured this would be the best place to get advice on tuning and motor mods (if they fit under the bonnet). The car currently has dual Webbers and is cranking out 175hp. It would be nice to see if that figure could be bumped over 200. I'll wait until I actually get the car before I start assaulting everyone with my dumb questions.

Also, anyone know of a really reliable, honest tuner in the Seattle area?

Very few people have heard of this car. The car I will (hopefully) be buying looks identical to this one, except the Webbers stick out of the side.

It is pretty much my dream car (well, this and an Aston Martin Vanquish), and I figure it isn't any more dangerous that riding my motorcycle, so damn the torpedoes, full speed ahead!

Whoa baby! That's sweet. I've seen a few Super Seven replicas running around here - I always thought they were pretty cool cars myself. Can't help you much with tuner shops I'm afraid. 175hp out of the Zetec is pretty good already. Of course it could be made to go more, it's just a matter of how much you're willing to spend!

BTW, your screen name and your sig seem to be referencing "The Prisoner" unless I'm mistaken? For that matter, so is the car...

That would be correct. Thus my obsession with these cars.

I think the Ford motor is really a good choice, as it follows in the spirit of the original 7s (they used the Cosworth powerplant, which is Ford, right?).

The supercharger would be great.... if it could fit. The space is seriously limited... truthfully, 175hp is plenty, as the car only weighs about 1,200 lbs, it really gets up and goes.

Off topic, I know...

This is getting seriously off-topic, but this Prisoner talk sent me searching the web for a site with an mp3 of the theme song. I found it at a site that has remarkably good copies of many American and British TV shows.

Check it out:

It was good for several laughs and fond memories... "nanananana BATMAN, BATMAN, BATMAN"
