07 Focus comes with optional REAR DISCS !?!

I might be out of the loop. but I found the following on Ford's website:

Quote:
Brakes power 4-wheel disc with anti-lock (standalone option for S model only; part of optional Safety Package for SE, SES and ST)
I think that is an awesome addition to the options list.

I am really sorry if this is a repost or RON - Really Old News.

The problem is that they should be standard in the first place. Along side ABS and Side Airbags.

the only company that offers ABS/rear disc combo standard on a compact is Kia/Hyu .... Mazda3 has standard rear discs, but not ABS ... Civic starts with rear drums and no ABS ... etc.

I'm pretty sure the new civic has rear discs as a standard now. I think this should be standard on all new foci. It is cool that they're an easy option now though! Maybe this means we'll be able to purchase a brake kit for cheaper that includes rear drums? I wonder if it would fit the '04?

DX and LX still come with rear drums - you need to get EX or SI for 4wheel discs on the 07 Civic sedan.

It seems, Rear discs came in a package with the Electronic stability control on all Foci since 2000 - but that package was never offered on Duratec Foci - so it completely disappeared in 05 ...

ESP/Advancetrac is still missing, but the discs are at least back.
