Good Bye

Well after a horrible episode trying to install the FC 65mm T/B, I decided I am going to return it.I know I am not a mechanic, and yes I did make a lot of mistakes, but in the end I got the hang of it, and the car for some reason never stopped iddling weird. I followed the instructions to the letter, I even tried the other positions on the T/B for the TPS and the car would still rev badly.I put the original T/B back and she is running again smooth like a baby.I do not take out of the loop that maybe the mistake was made by me, But after comparing both intakes, I must say I noticed a very limited performance gain and for me NOT worth the $250.00.I have a family and the focus is my daily driver, so I think the Volant and the Magna flow catback is as far as I am going to go since I do not have the money to have someone install mods and may not have the skills to do the work. ALso I am not considering the risk of screwing the extended service I bought for the car.Even though the mistake was mine, I tried to get a little help from the forum, but for some reason did not get much.Maybe everybody was on vacation.

Oh well Ces't la vie!!

Yeah, I checked that link.I actually read your post KTTN and i though I had the same problem.I reversed it as well to no resolve. I had to even buy a new TPS cause the original one broke during the first install.I tried everithing!!!!!!!I must say there is a lot of cool people here, but if I keep hanging around I know temptation will get the best of me!!!

The only issue I ran into was my(2003) TPS had to be mounted with the wires toward the front(opposite of stock) or it would rev high and there was high tension on the wires.

You have a 2000 and they are different.

Sorry to hear you had a bad experience.

I assume you tried resetting the ECU.

yea that will make a big differance. If you don't disconnect the battery the ECU won't learn the new part

Don't give up that easy. It takes a few times to figure out how things work. Unless you have done this before there is nothing worng with having problems. You just have to clear your head and go back and try again. If you get to frustrated take a break, that's what I allways do. And trust me when I say there is usally never a time I don't get frustrated working on a car. But then again at the same time I enjoy doing it.
