I'm going to guess never, unless you want to buy one and have it imported. Only problem with that is getting is certified to drive in the US, but you'd have a nice Focus to drive if you did!

well 6-7 years of the same body style is getting old here I'm sure they are planning on something new they changed the sedan ST a bit. I saw pics of the futura I think it was and the dash looks better with the silver rimmed spedometer. But the new hatch they have there looks awesome. The link above isnt that pretty much just the volvo equivalent? What about that neon orange thing?

Never.

Instead we get a major reskin design for '08/'09 with same chassis, elmination of the hatches and wagons in exchange for a two-door coupe and retention of the four-door sedan. Then we'll get a Focus based on the next Ford world platform chassis in 2010 that will be similar to the European Foci but will have different styling, similar to the differences between the Euro MkI (before the '02 Facelift) and 2000-4 US Focus. The nice part with that is, just like with the '00-'04 models and MkI Euro Foci, parts will be interchangeable between the two, so while you may not be able to buy a Euro MkIII, you will be able to build one

i think its stupid they going to kill the hatch and wagon and waste money doing a redesign and building a new coupe for only two years.

Well its either the redesign and drop the wagon and hatch or keep the '05 facelift until 2010...if you check the other thread (the '08 Sedan spyshot thread) igor posted the numbers, and accounting for 17% of Sedan sales being to fleets, sedans nearly outsell the hatches 2 to 1. Plus, with Ford being in the financial grinder right now this will save them money in the short term, plus they'll just bring the hatch and wagon back in 2010 since it'll be designed for the world market instead of just the US market.

I never even thought of Ford doing this. No red-blooded American would pay $25,000+ for a Ford hatchback, so why not add leather and sell it as a Volvo?

This way, everbody's happy. The American MKII Foci lovers will get their favorite hatchback, whilst luxury/Volvo enthusiasts will have available a sporty, classy, compact.

Ingenius.

I'd personally go after the mazdaspeed3. same platform. more power. lower price.
