Sold my Focus ZX3 Bought a 2003 Audi A6 Twin Turbo

My little focus was fun, great handling and very cheap. I needed a 4 door with room and the ZX3 was not cutting it I sold my car in Portland on Craigslist in 23hrs for full price $6,500. I bought a 2003 Audi A6 Bi-Turbo 2.7 53k miles... Silver w/ebony leather heated seats front and back. I love this car!

Audi makes awesome cars, for sure but out of warranty, they'll cost you DOUBLE or more to repair......

Trust me I know, I got a 2006 VOLVO S40, still under warranty but shop rates, other issues, will cost around DOUBLE or more for that, others like BMW are even higher and I'm sure AUDI is right up there. I got a buddy that has a new one and he mentioned this to me also.

If you have the cash though, no problem but don't be shocked when you pay $75-$80 an hour for labour, or more and $60-$75 for oil changes, etc.

They do too make a twin turbo v6. it's the same engine used in the 2000-2002 S4 . It's a 2.7L bi-turbo. 250hp, 250 lb-ft. They also have a twin turbo V-8 found in the RS6.

they put a very wide range of engines in the A6, most common in the earlier years was a 2.8, but you can also find them with a 2.7L bi-turbo, 3.0, 3.2, and even the 4.2 V-8.

The parts prices on Euro vehicles can be expensive, but sometimes you get what you pay for. For example, to replace the ball joints on a 325 it costs $500 in parts. For a single ball joint on a Chevy RWD it's about $9.

HORRENDOUS difference- right?

Well, BMW only sells the ball joints already installed in the control arms, so you're also replacing the control arms and control arm bushings. If you price all that for the Chevy RWD- it costs about the same, and BMW's reasoning is that by the time the ball joint wears out, the control arms and bushings are probably also worn out.

Of course, this isn't the case with all parts.

Best of luck with the car
