Angry CD Stuck in Stereo

Has anyone here had a problem with CD's getting stuck in the stock 6-disc stereo? This just happened to me over the weekend and it's really bothering me.
Every time I start my car, it "reads" the CD inside, clicks and makes some nasty sounds and then reads "CD Error" and goes to radio.
Am I going to have to take apart my stereo to get that CD out?

yup. just happened to me about a week or so ago. you need to pull the stereo out, and then use a T8 torx bit to take out 2 screws holding on the top plate thing on the stereo so you can get access to the inside. then just sorta feed the cd out through the opening in the front of the stereo so you can remove it. and voila. :) put it back together, put it back in the dash, and everything will work magically.

That is a constant problem with those style of CD Players, take it to ford if your still under warranty and they should replace it with a brand spankin new one

Also, for safety sake, if you ever take the HU out, or even sometimes just disconnecting the battery does it and you have discs inside it is always a safe bet to remove ALL the discs before doing anything. I've had mine conveniently FORGET that it had discs in it after a ECU reset.

yeah, mine "forgot" that it had discs in it as well, so i had to rip the thing out and manually remove the cd's one by one. but after i did all that, i have yet to have a problem. got 6 in there in rotation as we speak. :)

hmmm....well mine started makin weird noises since day 10 ;) when I got my subs put in...the thing would stop and go to radio...then I just hit cd again and it would work...only once have I had it do the same thing again but when I hit cd it worked! now if I have any more trouble will it still be under warranty although I have my subs put in? I know u guys had a discussion about the warranty and I had my q's and never answered :( cause I have new rims now that I dunno if they'd fix anything wrong with the brakes or suspension with em on and I was wonderin about the air intake also if they'd fix anything with the engine if I had air intake...cd player is main thing on my mind now though ;)

ok well, unless the install is such that the subs are causing the problem (which I doubt) you'll be fine. As far as wheels, Ford doesn't replace brakes (rotors, pads, calipers) under warranty anyway, and unless you put really really mis sized wheels on there (like 40lbs per wheel, or 20's) you shouldn't have a suspension problem. Since the overall diameter of the wheel, and tire together should be the same, unless you have bumping or something while turning that is hitting a part of the suspension, it won't matter. And for an intake, people think of this all the time, my mechanic at the dealership (also a good friend of the family) says there is nothing about an intake that should effect the engine adversely. He did say however, that unless it has a good sealed box, that the PCV valve can go bad more frequently (PCV=positive crankcase ventilation). So there ya go.
