i need advice on what is good to get.
i dont know anything about focus'
but id like to mod it.
ex. turbo, intake ect...

but i dont know what is possible on a focus.

i was looking at the ZX3 as a possible choice..

a zx3 is a downgraded svt, it has smaller breaks 16 inch rims instead of 17 inch rims a different intake and it sits .5 inches closer to the ground, it will defenatly out preforme a zx3 but the zx3 can be modded just as much as the svt i had a 2003 zx3 and loved it, it was a little slow off the line but after that it was great, i now own a 2003 svt, i got it when i was violated by a porche, but i love it as well, depending on your age insurance shouldent be that mjch of a hassel especially if ur parents are the dependents, but which ever one u get, ull love it, cause they both have the same grat ford loga on them

peace

yes, you can, but chill for a sec, lol, it takes more than a day to get a lot of replies.

I'd suggest you go for a 2003-2004 hatchback with the Duratec. Since an SVT will cost a bunch, the Duratec will likely be a good vehicle instead. Insurance isnt as much, but it still has some get-up-and-go.

also, make sure you get a stick, the auto's take too much power.

If you'd like, i can make a basic guide to the Focus, models, engines, trim, performance versions.

but now ii've got school, so i'll be on late.r

If youre looking for one to modify, find you an earlier ('00-'04) zetec, mtx 75 trans one. These IMO, are best for modding. The insurance on a svt is stupid unless you can afford it and not be bothered by it. The extra that the insurance cost could be put towards making the regular focus faster and better. make sure you get on with the 5-speed with the zetec. These trans are very strong and can be modded also. You would be suprised what you can make it do.

I would look for an 04 ZX3 with the 2.3 Duratec and a 5-speed. The automatic is not a bad trans, but if you want performance it will rob you of about 15 just stock and more as you add better parts. The FI market is smaller for the Duratec, but the 2.3 has almost everything you can get available for it.

I have an 05 zx3 and it seems to have a lot of get up and go for stock. better than my girls 03 zetech! at least I think so, the previous owner of her car didn't take care of it tho. but i beat her car off the line every time, and the duratech seems to have a little more juice to it, that my 2 cents
