um, what kinda mods do you have.

he'll have you on power, at least stock for stock.

handling is ur game.

aerodynamics arent much of a factor till you get to abouve 100+ mph.

and both of your transmissions are equally sucky, lol.....

and i doubt you're gonna "blow him outta the water" nothing against you, but the cobalt is a decent little car. I almost bought an SS supercharged, but decided on the fofo instead.

Grrrrrr @ cocky people.

Shift before redline, like around 6k rpm on your tachometer, and you should jump ahead nicely. The motor doesn't make a lot of power past that point, and all tachs lag behind actual rpm under WOT. Practice a few times before you race, and you'll easily discover the best point to shift. Also, be careful how hard you hit the clutch when you shift 1-2. I had an issue recently where my clutch stuck when I slammed it.

Have fun!

ok, so figure 5-10 hp for the exhaust, plus 0-3 hp with the TB, and 4-6 with the CAI.

i assume you're running a Zetec.

ok, that'd put you guys about the same. Similar weights too, from what i read. I'd say you'd have in handling for sure. But i think it will depend heavily on how well he drives overall.

I'd say you'll probably win, but be prepared for a possible loss.

and is this gonna be on a track, or on the street? If it's on the street, i gotta say, you're a .

sorry for being rude, but its just how i feel.

yea street racing is fun but stupid... more things can go wrong and end up more expensive to pay for... no its gonna be on the strip in redding, and then maybe later we might go down to anderson and race on the autocross track...

i thought the 2.4 was the SS?

if its an SS, he gonna kill ya ass

i barely beat a N/A SS stick, and I got killed by a SS supercharged.

they just have more power, which is bad in the straights, and I have an ST, which says something about their handling/power
